The Orton-Gillingham (O.G.)
Approach is scientifically validated to be the most effective approach for teaching reading to not only dyslexic students but to all students. It is language-based, multi-sensory, instructured, sequential, cumulative, explicit, cognitive and flexible. Its breadth, perspective and flexibility prompt use of the term approach instead of the method or program. Learning the OG approach provides in-depth knowledge on how to use any phonic-based program more effectively.
